क्राइम और इंसाफ की खबरों में मेरठ का बहुचर्चित ‘नीला ड्रम हत्याकांड’ आज चर्चा के केंद्र में है. जेल में बंद मुख्य आरोपियों मुस्कान और साहिल की सजा पर अदालत आज अपना अंतिम फैसला सुना सकती है. फैसले से ठीक पहले खबर है कि मुस्कान अपनी बड़ी बेटी से मिलने के लिए जेल प्रशासन को भावुक चिट्ठी लिख सकती है.
सियासी गलियारों की बात करें तो उत्तर प्रदेश के अमेठी में आज बड़ा सियासी उलटफेर देखने को मिलेगा. बुधवार को समाजवादी पार्टी के तीन बागी विधायक राकेश प्रताप सिंह, अभय सिंह और विनोद चतुर्वेदी औपचारिक तौर पर भाजपा में शामिल होने जा रहे हैं. इस जॉइनिंग के दौरान पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री स्मृति ईरानी और केंद्रीय मंत्री पंकज चौधरी समेत भाजपा के कई दिग्गज नेता मंच पर मौजूद रहेंगे.
अंतरराष्ट्रीय कूटनीति के लिहाज से भी आज बड़ी खबर सामने आई है. इस साल अपनी दूसरी आधिकारिक यात्रा पर अमेरिकी विदेश मंत्री मार्को रुबियो एक बार फिर भारत आ रहे हैं. 17 से 22 अक्टूबर के अपने तय एशिया दौरे के दौरान रुबियो भारत पहुंचेंगे, जहां वे पहले मुंबई और उसके बाद जामनगर का दौरा करेंगे.
कनाडा के अंतरराष्ट्रीय व्यापार मंत्री मनिंदर सिद्धू ने कहा, 'मैं पुष्टि कर सकता हूं कि हम इस साल प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी की मेजबानी करने के लिए उत्सुक हैं. मैं मंत्री पीयूष गोयल का भी कनाडा में दोबारा स्वागत करने के लिए उत्साहित हूं. हम अपने आर्थिक संबंधों को और मजबूत करने की दिशा में काम कर रहे हैं.'
भारत-कनाडा संबंधों में सुधार पर उन्होंने कहा, 'मैं यह बता सकता हूं कि हमारी नई सरकार के तहत दोनों देशों के संबंध किस तरह बदल रहे हैं. जैसा कि आप जानते हैं, हमने पिछले साल अप्रैल में सत्ता संभाली थी. इसके बाद से हम दुनिया भर के साझेदार देशों के साथ अपने संबंध मजबूत करने में जुटे हैं. कनाडा से जुड़े महत्वपूर्ण मुद्दों पर बंद कमरे में बातचीत भी चल रही है.
सुप्रीम कोर्ट की आधिकारिक वेबसाइट के अनुसार, लोकसभा में विपक्ष के नेता राहुल गांधी और 'इंडिया' (INDIA) गठबंधन के 12 अन्य नेताओं की ओर से दायर याचिका पर कल सुनवाई होने की संभावना है. इस याचिका में चुनाव आयोग (ECI) द्वारा वोटर लिस्ट के 'स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिविज़न' (SIR) से जुड़े फैसलों को चुनौती दी गई है.

The CBI has arrested the Executive Director of Munitions India Limited (MIL) and two other private individuals in a bribery case The case was registered on October 12, 2026, over allegations that the accused public servant, while serving as Executive Director at MIL in Pune, demanded and accepted illegal gratification in connivance with private contractors and vendors in exchange for extending official favours. During searches at the public servant’s premises in Pune, the CBI recovered ₹1.73 crore in cash. Searches at premises in Mysuru, Bengaluru and Delhi led to the recovery of approximately ₹50 lakh in cash and incriminating documents. The investigation is ongoing. The three accused arrested by the CBI in the bribery case are: Anil Kumar, Executive Director, Munitions India Limited (MIL), Ashish Kansal, CEO and Director/Promoter of M/s SMPP Ltd, and Harshavardhan, brother of Anil Kumar. The Government of India has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Prof. Ramesh Chand, former Member of NITI Aayog, to examine issues raised by sugarcane farmers and recommend appropriate measures for addressing their concerns. The constitution of the Committee follows the decisions taken during a meeting of representatives of sugarcane farmers from Karnataka and Maharashtra with the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. The Committee will examine the demand for an increase in remunerative returns to sugarcane farmers, taking into account cultivation costs and other relevant factors. It will also examine the demand for revision of the ex-mill Minimum Selling Price (MSP) of sugar in the context of sugar production costs, market realisations, and the financial viability of sugar mills.

पंजाब के मानसा में नशा-विरोधी कार्यकर्ता परविंदर झोटा की हत्या के मुख्य आरोपी मेडिकल स्टोर संचालक अश्वनी कुमार को पुलिस ने गिरफ्तार कर लिया है. मंगलवार को एक फार्मेसी में कथित तौर पर सिंथेटिक ड्रग्स बेचे जाने को लेकर झोटा और दुकान मालिक के बीच तीखी बहस हो गई थी. विवाद बढ़ने पर हुई गोलीबारी में झोटा की मौत हो गई, जबकि चार अन्य लोग घायल हो गए. सोशल मीडिया पर नशा तस्करों का पर्दाफाश करने के लिए मशहूर झोटा की हत्या के बाद आरोपी मौके से फरार हो गया था, जिसे पुलिस ने अब हिरासत में ले लिया है.
